It’s shit right?

Once again the substantial preteen partition rears its unsightly head revealing a mass consisting of crybabies and lets out an earsplitting wail.

I kind of got lazy after a while! :x

Done with Adobe Illustrator, and a mouse within a timespan of a few hours.  Perverts.

Alby Advanced for 1 is no doubt the hardest dungeon to find a pass for (and maybe the most difficult dungeon yet as well).  Spamming advanced for 3 passes only net me a grand total of ONE advanced for 1 pass (and no wooden needle wooden blades :<).  So naturally, I had to run it!

As you can see in the screenshots, it’s in essence Alby advanced with a palette swap.  THREE floors, rooms have a reddish-purple tint, and pretty much every room borrows mobs from advanced for 3/unlimited; including their respective boss rooms sans the giant golden spiders.  Meaning, you NEED to be able to solo the other Alby advanced variations in order to do this dungeon.

The treasure room is an interesting change from the norm.  Killing the boss gives you one key to use, but the treasure room has eight chests to choose from.  It’s POSSIBLE to obtain enough keys to open all of them by creating your own keys from larva cocoons.  To do so, there’s random (I believe) spawns of larva on floor two, which have a chance of dropping cocoons.  FIVE larva cocoons can be weaved in the boss room to make ONE key, and cocoons can be taken out of the dungeon for later use.  High dex (190+?) or rank B weaving gives a 99% success rate on them.  I myself only had four cocoons drop, meaning I’ll need to go back to Alby advanced for 1 many, many times.

I ended up getting ~4-5k and a MP50 potion.  Fuck yes.

Pay attention to what ayuke says.

( ´・ω・`) Fascinating.

I have an astounding amount of screenshots like this.  People keep trying to chew me out over this game.

And yes, I’m Labellum.

It's like I'm really in high school!

A question I get while PvPing often, while not quite phrased verbatim goes something along the lines of:

“if u could kill sum1 irl wud u”

And by default I tell them yes, although we all know that randomly committing acts of violence in REAL LIFE has REAL LIFE consequences.  If I kill someone in-game there is no penalty against me, other than the fact that I have now created a new enemy in my fantasy life (OH NO).  I have no regrets beating the shit out of them in-game because it doesn’t mesh into my actual longevity.

My point is, as stated before, that most of the userbase fails to realize Mabinogi has in fact replaced their own lives with its allure of fantasy.  Along with the aforementioned social cliques, people try to live out their actual lives in Mabinogi, finding girlfriends or boyfriends without any sense of what kind of commitment a relationship entails.  It’s not uncommon to hear of sixteen-year-old girls moving in with guys, five to ten years their elder.  And much like my own high school years, rumors spread like wildfire and eventually hit the official game boards causing tremendous emotional trauma OVER A GAME.  Ridiculous.

To conclude, I’d like to agree with Zaki’s outlook on Mabinogi.  If their life is horrible enough to where they have to live it out on the internet, why even bother trolling the shit out of them?  To the point where someone can anonymously call them a faggot gets them absolutely furious, where is the satisfaction?  It’s much more enjoyable watching them  live out their ☆~FANTASY LIFE~☆ in vain.

PvP is quite possibly one of the poorest aspects of Mabinogi.  It’s mainly dependant on latency, how fast you can load a skill (and/or rank, also see: latency), and of course prepubescent nerd rage.  The Mabinogi userbase is predominantly occupied by those who substitute the “fantasy life” Mabinogi promises in place of their own.  Social cliques are quite apparent ranging from the “LOL XD ANIME” to the “WOW I’M SO FANTASY LIFE POPULAR” and not surprisngly, often form bonds stronger than blood.  People will literally hold grudges to the death within this game because “OH MY GOD SHINKI CALLED ME A FAGGOT” or “SHE STOLE MY STIFF 8/4 RAVEN +4 ICE ENCHANTED BROADSWORD” (nerds).

The userbase has even come up with their own Mabinogi PvP terminology, one of the more popular words being “randoming”; meaning attacking someone who knowingly has PvP ON, but does not wish to fight.  What I don’t understand is that these people spend hours in places made specifically for PvP, and PvP is about fighting… right?   In the cases of open PvP, people have the option to keep it on, or off.  It takes literally no more than five seconds to check the open PvP flag on or off in the options menu.

PvP is the pinnacle of Mabinogi’s fallacies.

u mad bro?

You really hurt my e-feelings ;_;

CAPS LOCK might be cruise control for cool, but you still need to steer.

I don’t like to consider myself a troll, but I doubt that any of you could deny that edging people on who take this game seriously is not appealing.

Pre-G2 nostalgia!

Me fashionably standing in the bottom right corner with Zaki.

My memory is overall pretty hazy about what exactly happened beforehand, but I vaguely recall a character named Rosabell calling me her sister and asking me if I was going to marry Zaki.  Zaki and I went along with it and told her yes, and immediately she excitedly went off and bought us chocolate and flowers.  Rosabell then promised she would coordinate a wedding ceremony for us and message us later.  How sweet!  Sarcasm aside, I’d have to say this was the most bizarre and awkward incident that’s ever happened to me while playing this game.  Coming close in second would be the time I was Zaki’s sister that cried every time I had sex with him.

Sometimes you just can’t help but feel bad for some of the people that play Mabinogi (THIS IS ONE OF THOSE TIMES).  People like Rosabell make you wonder how many times her daddy touched her no-no parts while she was asleep.

Fun facts!:

  • On that day, there was someone extremely upset about this wedding (GUESS WHO! – hint below).
  • This was the first in a cascading line of events that lead to the eventual downfall of Danmaku.
